In 2016, FDA announced the revamped Nutrition Facts label would include a new line just for “added sugars,” both in terms of grams and as a percent Daily Value (%DV). The goal is to help people limit their added sugar intake to less than 10 percent of their total calories for the day. Brands, depending on their size, could have until January 2021 to be compliant.
